Remembering Fatal…

“As some of you know 2Pac‘s music has had a huge influence on me. It was his music that initially turned me onto Hip Hop music. The same can be said for his group of brothers, “The Outlawz.”

Fatal and Noble, from The Outlawz, were the first artists to take the time to talk with me, give me guidance and collaborate with me. I always look at my records with them as milestone moments in not only my career, but also my life. I remember doing those records and pinching myself to see if this was in fact reality…. And indeed it was!

The songs we created together are amongst some of my fondest memories. They are proof that dreams do come true. That if you work hard and are nice to people… Good things can and still do happen.

It deeply saddened my heart to learn that Fatal tragically passed away last week. Life is so fragile and we should never take it for granted. I’m still in shock… I don’t think it’s fully resonated with me yet. I was talking to my good friend Tero, who handled most of the artwork for Fatal’s albums, and he was saying, “I can’t believe I won’t be hearing from him again. We just spoke last week about a new project.”

With a heavy heart, I want to share two songs that I recorded with Fatal. Two of my fondest memories in music… “Heroes Always Die and “Remember.”

This is Tomboy KC!

I recently recorded a song for the lovely ladies over at TomboyKC. Tomboy KC is a fashion & lifestyle site created by actress Katie Cassidy and her friend Lynsey Eaton. They’re classy, cool, and doing some great things. So sit back, relax… check out the video, download the song and head on over to their website today!

Have you ever imagined what it would be like to have your own rap song? Like all of your thoughts, hopes and dreams wrapped up into one soulfully rapped poem set to a perfectly orchestrated beat? We would be lying if we pretended we hadn’t thought about it and failed miserably at our attempts to make one ourselves (everyone has their talents, OK). Lucky for us, about two months ago…

Check out the entire post at “We are TKC… This is Asoka” and download both covers for the single below…
